Coweta County Cattlemen’s Association Wins Big at 2025 Georgia Cattlemen’s Convention

The Coweta County Cattlemen’s Association celebrated a triumphant showing at the 2025 Annual Georgia Cattlemen’s Association Convention, held in Augusta, Georgia, from March 12-14. With the theme “Raising the Steaks,” the association took home three prestigious awards: the Chapter of the Year Award, the Highest Membership Percentage Award, and the 3rd Quarter ’24 Top Membership Recruiter Award.

In addition to the accolades, the Coweta County Cattlemen’s Association received several prizes, including three plaques, ¼ mile of pasture management fencing supplies (sponsored by Pasture Management), and a mobile Priefert chute (sponsored by Priefert).

President Penny Bowie expressed her pride in the accomplishments, saying, “These awards demonstrate that the Coweta County Cattlemen’s Association is the most active, largest, and fastest-growing chapter in Georgia, out of 159 chapters across the state.”

She credited the growth and success of the association to its members’ enthusiasm for learning about and promoting beef, stating, “We’ve more than doubled our membership simply by having fun, learning, and sharing our passion for cattle and BEEF.”

The association is also proud to recognize Junior Cattlemen Coweta member Audrey Courtney, a student at Berry College, who won a Georgia Cattlemen Scholarship.

Bowie also introduced the association’s new motto: “If you eat BEEF, you need to join the Cattlemen’s Association.” She stressed the importance of educating the public about the challenges and rewards of ranching, as well as the health benefits of beef. “Our meetings provide an opportunity for both ranchers and non-ranchers to connect, learn, and enjoy great beef meals in a fun and welcoming environment,” she added. “Come to a couple of dinner meetings, and you’re on the trail to membership.”
